Prior to creating this blog I received frequent "what do you think of the market" questions. I would shorten my answer with each response, or quite often simply copy/paste the same answer. While I love the social interaction, I decided I could give better detail behind my observations and actions by writing a few words each day. Also, a fellow trader mentioned that writing about my decisions would force to me to put greater thought and effort into them. I don't proofread and I don't pretend to be a writer.
As I mention, my posts are observations and are for informational purposes only - they are NOT recommendations.
Me:
I am Dave Harby, an independent investor - not available for public hire. I have a master's degree, 25 years of business experience, and decades of experience trading stocks. I began trading stocks in 1991 after reading William O'Neil's "How to Make Money in Stocks" and learning of other's success using his methods. That year I bought Fifty-Off Stores (FOFF) at 12, sold it at 36, and was hooked. It was a great start, but I would spend the next 5 years learning what NOT to do. Since 1997 my results have significantly outperformed market index returns. I'm still learning and still making plenty of mistakes.
